[Milsurplus] Beginning of use of UHF aero radios

The Navy MAY, a 4 channel portable was about that same time period, or 
maybe a year or two earlier. Sure glad I didn't have to carry that one on 
my back!

Anyone know when the aircraft started getting UHF sets? What were the 
AN/ARC numbers? Were there any models pre JAN series?
