While the MO will work without Y50 (the cal crystal) present, the 1626 won't 
work too well with no filament current (or to be more precise with the reduced 
current supplied by the current balancing resistor across the 1629).  All of 
the 28 volt Command Sets use series/parallel filament strings and 12 volt 
tubes.  The 1626 and 1629 filaments are in series as are the two 1625's.
