The G series was discontinued when the A series came out. The GPs and GOs
that we all know and love are actually the last of the lines. Yes, there
are (were) GP-1 and GO-1s, back in the mid 1930s.

If someone could point me towards a detailed taxonomy of German equipment,
that would be great. U.S. Coast Guard stuff as well.
