I have a GP-7 up and running off a 115vac, 800 cycle MG set from a TBW. Agree, it would be a lot of work connecting up an external 60 cycle supply and probably not worth the trouble. The GP-7 is rather drifty and FM's on phone; not too bad on 160 and 75 but not really useable on 40M. Uses primary keying on CW and doesn't just chirp, it WHOOPS! Primarily interesting as a curiosity. I've never heard another one on the air.
