My BC-342 came with one of those antenna connectors screwed 
to the receiver. However, it looks to me like some sort of coax 
cable was used with it. My connector had a short piece of wire 
hanging out of it.

The connector is somewhat larger than any similar connector I 
have ever seen. Although I intend to try one, I don't think those 
Eico/Heath audio/VTVM connectors will fit.

I'll probably use the spring-loaded binding post for antenna 
connection. According to the schematic, they both connect to the 
same place internally.

Also, my BC-342 is a later one without the noise cancelling 
antenna circuit. Further, the manual I have describes the 
proper method of disabling and removing that circuit. It must 
not have worked very well. Also, again according to the manual, 
that noise-cancelling circuit was meant to be used only in 
receivers which were used in mobile service to cut down on 
ignition noise.
