Thanks for the info Marty, interesting.  On the
299/399 series, it was actually an HT-4/BC610.
Used to operate the HT4's when I first came on
duty with the FBI - later changed to the TMC 
GPT-750's but kept the HT-4's as backup at
remote locations.  I enjoyed operating my BC342,
and the BC344 and always wanted a 312 with the 
noise blanker but haven't found one yet.  Someday
perhaps.
