Actually, I would have said that the Classic UHF set was AN/ARC-12, a mod of
AN/ARC-1. The ARC-27/55 were made in much larger quantities, whatever the
quantities were. I had an ARC-12 once upon a year, but it was during my
"inactive" period in the early 80's. Gave it away and never did find another one
later. Haven't even seen one mentioned here in years. And then I quit collecting
aircraft sets (finally ran out of space at three storage buildings) and
didn't look any more.
