I think one of the problems (other than being ham-unfriendly) is that 
they tend to be pretty rare, and when found, beaten beyond belief. At 
least this is what I find! Quite a few of the ARCs were produced in 
quantities of several hundreds or thousands - not the five or six digits 
found in World War 2 aircraft sets. It seems that the military was 
loathed to give them up too early, as well.

I have a bunch of AN/ARC-27 modules, if anyone needs parts. I also have 
some AN/ARC-57s (UHF radio for the Hustler, a real oddball) for trade. I 
am currently looking for the control box and rack for an AN/ARC-33 (one 
of the very recent new toys).
