It sounds logical (which of course doesn't necessarily make it correct).  I just
read through the first few pages of a 1947 Mallory Vibrator Supply Handbook.
Didn't see any mention of this subject but when I get a little time, I'll dig
deeper into the text.

But one thing I did note, which goes back to our earlier discusion of age
effects on vibrators in storage, was the casual mention that low-voltage
operated vibrators (a later paragraph leads me to believe that they may mean
vibrators designed to operate from 2.1 volts or less) have contacts made from a
"special silver alloy", not tungsten.
