Does anyone know if operation on below rated voltage increases vibrator failure?
I'm wondering if below rated voltage operation would result in contact
destruction. My reasoning is as follows:
With lowered drive voltage, the amplitude of the armature oscillation would
decrease, resulting in slower contact breaking and therefore more arcing.
Another failure mode might be less contact pressure, resulting in overheating of
the contacts.
Any comments, either practical or theoretical, would be appreciated.
Thanks,
