Your SCR-522 has a British "Air Ministry" tag on it with the "Crown
Property" insignia in the middle. All WW2 Royal Air Force equipment is
marked with the AM tags, just as the British Navy stuff had "Admiralty"
tags. Equipment which was used both by the US and Britain had dual military
tags. The TR5043 is the British military designation for the SCR-522.

Subject: [Milsurplus] SCR-522 ?

Hi,

Just acquired two units that look like the SCR-522 that I used years ago for
2-meter MARS. But the
nameplates have me confused - they say:

SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY
T/R UNIT TYPE TR 5043

The name plate has a small crown (?) at the top with "A" on the left and "M"
on the right side of
the crown.

Can someone tell me what we have here?

TIA
