This devil is neat! Have 2 here. Labeled AT&T Atlanta Region P-20 & P-31

Xtal controlled OD aluminum-cased things about 5" D, 12" H, 10" W. Dual
compartments w. 3 big 45V & some A & C batteries in bottom and
trans-rcvr up top. Fairly modern Marion tune-up meter.

5 3A4s in tx, 7 tubes like 1T4, 3V4, etc. in rx.

Xtal controlled rx & tx. Mine are on 3980* & bet some ham once used 'em

One label carries "part no. 6043" ID which in fact may be a Sept. 1960 date
code.

The horizontal handle unscrews & telescopes out to a 10' whip which sits on a
stowed loading coil.

Inside instructions say good for 8 miles! Quite a leg up on BC-611 which
are in same band.

Stromberg handset & a built-in speaker. Latter can be sub'd for rx-out.

This smacks of the Forest Service stuff herr kargokult savors. Wonder
how AT&T employed 'em?

Anyone venture some info? War College of Americas? WerBel counter-
revolutionary academy? Have best one in car & pics may follow

  Thanks,

    Marty

*rx is 3525, hence 455 IF.
