I am not sure which manual you are looking at, but the manuals I 
have (all four of them) show both the FRR and the SRR receivers 
in the smooth, grey cases.

There are no photos of the MRR series, but since those are listed 
as being mounted in waterproof "transportable" cases, I would think 
that THOSE are the ones supposed to be in the green wrinkle 
cases.

The FRR series were simply the SRR receivers with rack-mounting 
brackets on them. Otherwise, from all I can see, they are identical.

The SRR receivers have holes in the bottoms for mounting to a 
ship's radio room table. The FRR receivers have those holes 
plugged.

However, there are enough different MWOs to these receivers so 
that it is possible for one of the SRR or MRR to exist in corrugated 
cases. I have one SRR-11A here with an added switch and internal 
wiring to allow the operator to switch the antenna input impedance 
from HI to LO from the front panel. And that is the only SRR-11 I 
have with that mod.
