Amen to that!  When I first heard about the tube-audio enthusiasts, I
thought it was great that the art and science of vacuum-tube design was
being preserved.  But I soon discovered the nonsense and mythology at the
heart of the phenomenon, and realized its big downside: tying up supplies of
scarce components and driving their prices beyond the reach of many who have
a
genuine need for the tubes and other parts to maintain and restore the gear
for which they
were originally intended.
