Mine has no clips and no obvious place to mount them.  I think my unit is NOS.

Seams reasonable. Was the dry cell pack connected via wires to the terminals or
via the clips? The manual is not clear.

Neither have I. I could use 2 of them. Anyone got some for sale?

The conclusion seems to be that trunk pack(s) are  field installed as required,
which is reasonable.
