Including shameless promotional:

The Southwest Research Institute began performing work in Radio Direction
Finding for the U. S. Navy around 1949. Under a later contract, a book
was assembled of abstracts of publications related to Radio Direction
Finding. The original publication in 1965 was a 8" X 11" book about an
inch thick which records about 5200 citations. A second edition was
assembled in the 80s, but never published. In 1996, in association with
the ongoing biennial DF Conference, a CD ROM was produced with about
15,000 citations. In the subject index in the book, there is one page
plus devoted to the D series nomenclature, and a couple more to German
numbers, and yet another to AN/ nomenclatured equipment. Anyone who
wants to come to San Antonio and root through this collection, I will be
happy to provide the necessary contacts. In the meanwhile, I simply do
not have adequate time to sort, copy and/or even start well to summarize
this information for the group. But, rest assured, it exists. There are
16 citations for the DAJ, 7 for the DAJa, whatever in the world that is,
and 39 for the DAQ. And on and on and on. I believe the CD ROMs are
available for sale, but when I saw the price, my eyes rolled back in my
head, and I promptly forgot what it was. I can find out if anyone has a
couple hundred bucks burning a hole in their pocket, and really wants to
know.
