I had a DAG-1 DF receiver once, back in the 1970s or so. Got it
NIB from AFMARS. Dunno where it is now. It wasn't automatic
though. It was a small receiver, about the same size as a Zenith
TO or perhaps a bit smaller, but in a metal case that closed up like
suitcase. The loop and whip (sense antenna) mounted inside the
front cover. There was a small door in the bottom half to the right
of the battery compartment with spare tubes and a compass in it.
The compass mounted in the bottom of the loop. The loop was
turned by a front-panel knob with attached scale. It had all the
necessary stuff, with the sense antenna to resolve the 180 degree
ambiguity. It covered from 500 Khz through 18 Mhz as I remember
it. It had a BFO and was quite sensitive. I really liked it. Sure wish I
knew where it went...
