I had a DAG-1 DF receiver once, back in the 1970s or so. Got it 
NIB from AFMARS. Dunno where it is now. It wasn't automatic 
though. It was a small receiver, about the same size as a Zenith 
TO or perhaps a bit smaller, but in a metal case that closed up like 
suitcase. The loop and whip (sense antenna) mounted inside the 
front cover. There was a small door in the bottom half to the right 
of the battery compartment with spare tubes and a compass in it. 
The compass mounted in the bottom of the loop. The loop was 
turned by a front-panel knob with attached scale. It had all the 
necessary stuff, with the sense antenna to resolve the 180 degree 
ambiguity. It covered from 500 Khz through 18 Mhz as I remember 
it. It had a BFO and was quite sensitive. I really liked it. Sure wish I 
knew where it went...
