Most Collins mechanical filters have identical transducers
at each end, so don't care which end is input and which
output, and don't care which of the two terminals at each end
are the RF "hoy" side and which the "cold". A few of the plastic
cased filters with only 4 terminals identify one of the pins as
ground - it's apparently connected to the metal part of the
filter as well as one side of the coil.

The Collins data sheet for the F500Z-5 filter does identify
the end of the filter with the ground terminal as the input side
and the end with the short evacuation tube as the output side,
but does not identify the terminals with numbers.

You can probably find 2 gnd wires at one end of the filter
and 1 at the other to determine which way the filter was
facing in the PRC-47.
