Dave,

This 52232 may be a misnomenclatured orphan.  The common ATA transmitters as 
shown in the ATA/ARA manual (NAVAER 08-5Q-4) all have the clip on loading coil 
cover.  And 52232 is on the list there as being the 2.1-3.0 MC transmitter.

Does it also have the shunt fed 1625 plates?  If so, it could be a prototype 
of 52305, the plate modulated ATA's that ended up being AN/ARC-5's.

If I ever saw anything else with that contract number, I don't have it 
recorded.
