No. Most had no keyed ignition or starter switches either. Radio power went
directly from the battery (or post on starter relay or solenoid) to the radio
power junction box. Radios were often operated with engine off (in ground
vehicles, not aircraft we hope). Same with the M Series. Later M Series
(Vietnam War on) have MX-7778/GRC Transient Suppressor Assembly added because
drivers often disregarded posted warnings to turn off (solid state) radios before
starting engine. I'm not sure what the current in-service vehicles have, but
would be surprised if it has changed.
