(SORRY ABOUT THAT LOST POST, the send key is too close to the edit key
this early in the morning!)

For those that recall the 1980's, when most people used text-based
displays to get on the internet, (before the Golden Age of SPAM), alot
of people used to run Bulletin Board Systems.

In those days, anyone with a PC could do it, and most BBS software
allowed networking wherein late at night your bbs and everyone else's
in the same area code would call the local 'hub' (all the same BBS
software as yours, but the hub was run by a guy with enough money for
a few nightly long distance calls), and the hub would, in the wee
hours, dialup all the other hubs countrywide and exchange mail with
them. Most people never ran BBSs, but instead used them. The internet
has pretty much made dialup BBSs obsolete now.

Hey, let's start our own BBS! ??, well today that is what those yahoo
groups are, crippled versions of BBS's, each with but one discussion
area.
