no but I remember the  unit built in the helmet in the tom swift Jr. series
that used acorn tubes.....

How I loved those  books as a kid! the kid had unlimited run of the
facilities material and could do anything and go anywhere....   when ever I
tried to get away with that my father's reply was..... but Ed... you are not
Tom Swift!  (especially in regards to taking off on adventures around the
Palos Verdes Peninsula without permission!)
