I must say that Al Gross's claims seem a tad outlandish,
especially claiming to have "invented" the walkie-talkie in 1938.
The concept of the man-portable radio predates his activity by
at least a decade. Now if he said he was the first to get
FCC approval for such an equipment design on the Citizen's Band,
I'd believe that.
He certainly deserves credit for accomplishments,
but if a man tells me he hung the moon, dug the craters,
decided on gray and black for the colors
and he did it all by himself, I'm a little skeptical.
