Cool-Amp is an electroless silver plating compound. They used to give away
samples at trade shows. The down side is that it only apples a coating a few
molecules thick because it works by replacing the base metal with silver. Once
the base metal is covered there is no more base metal exposed to the chemicals
and the reaction stops and no more silver is deposited.

If you want to plate small areas there are 'pad' plating kits available for a
number of metals. They use a battery or power supply and an eletrode wrapped in
cloth and soaked with the plating solution. This is true electro-plating. Do a
Google search.
