> Another interesting book is, "History of Communications-Electronics in the
> United States Navy," 1963, by Captain L. S. Howeth, USN (Retired). 655
> pages. It covers the whole radio history from before WWI, the interwar
> period, and WWII. It includes the spark vs arc controversy, (arc won) early
> Radar pictures, etc. Don't ask me where to get it - I bought mine at a
> radio flea market for a trifle.

Rare book, and certainly worth a look. My only problem with it is that it
is very spotty...huge amounts of information about the early years, but
by 1930 it goes down to nearly zero. Then it picks up again for a little
wartime information, and the non-radio bits seem out of place.
