The 'JNAP book' is JNAP-161 & I've indirect access to one

WW2 & earlier 32RAs were gray, the AN/FRT-?? variant is black.  

Dennis I've that '39 QST ad too.   Looks like 32RA was built because it 
seemed like a good idea at the time.  Ad shows they're casting for uses 
for a no-tune multi-band rig to do something.  No steenking marketing 
poofs involved, they built it because they could.

It's sporty to use one 'cause the 866 MV-rect's jus flicker sooooo nize.

It's a Johnston ranger on steroids.  Conan the Barbarian's desktop
qrp set.
