Ken,
You have to add shunt capacity between the antenna terminal and ground. A=20
wide range of values will work. I use 100 pf for 20M, 200 pf for 40 & 75=20
and 800 pf for 160M. (Additional mods in the osc. and buffer stages are=20
required for operation across the 160M band.)
Don't know about 400 ohms.
