Here Here,
I have experienced the same thing, however having a
contact inside the organization helps I think I answered
this question for someone else on this list, which is why
I didn't chime up right away. The 7223 does indeed
provide 100 watts of drive and can be used with the
7223 and 7224 amplifiers. I think the 200 milliwatt thing
is a misunderstanding, some folks think this unit is like
the RF1310 or RF-131 exciters and that even makes that spec wrong for them
as the output is 100 milliwatts, driving a pair of 8877 to 1KW out.
As for getting manuals, there are places where they are
available, and yes they are expensive, having worked at Harris RF
Communications Division, and being familiar
with the WOES of field service I can say this, "If you
get the manual you won't be sorry when you see the quality of it and it is
very readable with descriptions of
circuits as they operate, not as someone thinks they
should operate!
Harris field service is always helpful to folks, but be
considerate, don't ask them to spend hours explaining
things to you on the telephone. Check out some pricing
for field service organizations and then try to understand
this is a business, if you just have to have their help, pay
for it I assure you when they leave the system will be working and up to
specifications.
