PU for more complexly controlled generators. I had a PU-286-G
which is a 4 cylinder gas engined 115 VAC 5 Kw genny built for a
radar set. Dunno which one though. Ran at 1800 RPM and used a
thermo-syphon cooling system with a very large squirrel-cage
blower below the "evaporation unit" Normal running temp was 212
degrees F. Remote start and stop. Very efficient on gasoline usage.

YES! Visit your local farm parts store. I'll bet you will find one there.
Farm equipment used MILLIONS of Kohler engines.
I did some major restoration on a PE-75 (?), in any case the 10 Kw
generator for the SCR-399/499. Used a weird model Jeep engine
and 2 LARGE 6 volt batteries in series to "motor" the generator to
start it. I found ALL of the parts I needed to restore this thing at our
local farmer parts store. Turns out that many models of combine
use this exact engine somewhere on it. They had the distributor,
fuel pump, plus fuel-pump repair kit, AND a starter which bolted
straight into the PE-75 (?) engine. Also a complete carburetor, and
flywheel.
If you can't find a fuel-pump diaphragm, you may find an exact
replacement pump if you take yours to the farm parts dealer and
have him do a search.
Let us know how you make out.
