Look closely and you'll see that the BC-639 and the receiver portion
of the SCR-522 are very much the same except for the way the tuning
capacitors are turned.  The BC-639 has a gear and a knob, while the
SCR-522 has those damm slides.  There's a power supply for the BC-639
that fits into the same rack.  Almost all fixed plant equipment was
rack mounted.  I have some pictures from 1946 and 1952.   73  Clete
