Originally acquired from Fair around 1990 for the asking price (which mea=
ns
that they cost me about $163 in today's dollars).  Recently acquired the
earlier vacuum tube version which is a better vintage match to my R-388,
390, 390A and 725, so decided to try to find a new home for them, rather
than letting them gather dust in my storage building.

On a tip from another list member, I did test them with the input bandpas=
s
filter bypassed (BNC connectors made the test an easy one), and under tho=
se
conditions, they do work into the lower end of the AM broadcast band. =

Didn't run any exhaustive tests, though.  Just listened to Chattanooga Ch=
oo
Choo and Proud Mary, and then pulled it out of circuit and reconnected th=
e
filter.  :-)
