When I was stationed at Misawa AB in Japan, we (our Navy folks)
were flying P-3 Orions while the JSDN (Japanese Self Defense Navy)
guys were flying P-2Vs. They shared our airbase for awhile while
the JSDN base at Hachinohe was getting a runway resurfacing.
Those gasoline fueled jet engines hanging out there sure sounded funny
when coupled with the big recip. radials.
