Sad stuff, for sure. Wonder where the son got the idea any museum would
be interested in the first place?
A couple of helps: The bolometer goes with a specific readout to measure
and calibrate signal generator output amplitude. Need to match it up
with its power meter.
The Rycom is a very low frequency receiver which appeared in large
quantities surplus many years ago. Good for listening to IFs of other
receivers, and general low frequency monitoring. Heard once the railroad
connection, but have forgotten the meaning.
The HP5110 was in 3 pieces. A timebase, a driver (mentioned) and a third
box which had a hundred + pushbuttons on the front to select frequency.
The heterodyne frequency meter sounds like an early Cushman used for two
way radio frequency measurement. There were two more parts, a range
extender and a modulation monitor. Unless it is a real! early
Measurements. Or General Radio. What color and texture is (was?) the
finish on the case and front panel?
CR-18 specifies the case, pin size, and a selection of electrical
operating conditions. So if they say CR-18, they would be expected to
all look the same.
