As I recall, the referenced inverter puts out a pretty good sine wave and does
it by a harmonic summing technique. If my memory is correct, a lot more needs to
be changed, including possibly special caps in the power circuits. There are
plenty of used variable and fixed frequency static inverters (Elgar and others)
on the surplus market that use 115V/60Hz input. I have a big one which must
weigh 300#, but am not willing to mess with crating and shipping. I would
suggest looking for one, possibly in the LA area, unless you need the battery
input. There were many used there as GSE for the aerospace industry. You might
well be able to sell the one you have for more than the cost of what you really
want, if it is aircraft qualified and unmodified.
