I recalled part of the incident where a German strongpoint force
was persuaded to surrender by means of radio broadcasts-
i believe this was by using the transmitter of Radio Luxembourg-
which had been captured intact as the Germans retreated.
As for "surrender broadcasts" - or even messages- transmitted
from Allied aircraft - i remain very much the skeptic. We do know
of one incident for sure of persuasion by radio- over a transmitter
of over 50 kw. And, as i mentioned, the US Army had a mobile,
truck-carried broadcast system, of 1 kw, which included a full
radio studio, and was as quickly mobile as an AA gun unit.
