OK Robt. & thanks. I should have guessed you and F W Chesson were
collaborators!
I have a manual on the SCR269 loaned out and should call it back for
a look too.
The SCR269 looks to be the 1st real ADF. It had an E (wire) and a
H (loop) antenna & steered the loop with a servo amp driven by the
BC432 rcvr. Since both E and H, it gave a unique reading to the
homing station (one null)
So there's the story of the "Lady be Good" that was found in the Sahara 10
years ago. Story navigator was reading comics. But additionally there
was note that "radio compass" gave 2 null readings & you couldn't discern
TO from FROM unless you asked pilot for a 90 deg. turn & re-read
radio compass.
Which leads me to guess only lead bomber had SCR269 ADF & others were
equipped with Bendix MN26 setup??
Seem good archeological substance for this since number of surplus Bendix
MN26 RXs was legion & I don't think I've seen a BC432.
