Unfortunately, instead of clearing things up, it only adds mystery. 
After I inquired about the designation, I discovered one of the crystal
cases bears both markings, CUR on one side and Reeves Hoffman on the
other.  Date code is 66 or 67 as I recall, I've already put them back in
storage.  I've about come to the conclusion this Reeves operation was an
early day Enron.

Before I sent this, I scrolled down and read the message from David
Edsall.  Now I know they were a flaky operation.  Made good crystals,
though.  Thanks to everyone for their help.
