Group:

Mike brought up the subject of unreliable memory of us who have watched a
little water pass under the bridge, and it makes me wonder how much stuff
is published (and posted on the Internet) based on someone's faulty
memory. A case which could merit further examination are the replies to
my inquiry about crystals. Since the inquiry, local digging turned up
the name Reeves-Hoffman, a crystal manufacturer I have previously (very
previously) done business with. Reeves Sound Company, the name provided,
and which apparently was derived from some government literature, I
always associated with Reeves Soundcraft recording tape and phonograph
accessories, although their published company name was Reeves Soundcraft
Corporation. Now, Reeves is not an uncommon name, so is there a
connection between Reeves Sound and Reeves-Hoffman? And Reeves
Soundcraft Corp. for that matter? An interesting aspect of all this is
that no address seems to be available for either of the Reeves sound
related names. I'm still digging for my old files on Reeves-Hoffman for
their address.

More as it develops.
