George is correct...Most ships carrier 4 receivers minimum.
two were for 15-600 Kc and were TRF/Regen types like RAK and RBL
two were for HF like RBH (NC-100A) RBC or the RAL Regen/TRF types.
One of the 16-600 Kc receivers usually stayed on 500 Kc. Of course
some ships like submarines only had a single operating position and
may not have had as many receivers. My very first rig was a
Regen detector that I could crank the regen control up and actually
work slow CW with a buddy 5 houses up the street who had a like
setup. This was back when I was 15 or 16. We used to run somewhere
around 250-300 Kcs. Guess you could call this wireless code practice
oscillators.
