MOMS gear (that's how it is referred to in ships drawings:
Man-On-the-Move System) on the last ship I was on in Y2K was UHF, and
operated just below 400 MHz, top end of the UHF aircraft band.  However,
I believe the equipment was FM, and derived from hardware made for the
406-420 MHz goverment 2-way band.  It is used to communicate between the
flight deck, hanger deck or other locations not specified, and personnel
topside; or among topside personnel.  Usually includes a repeater, [e. g.
RT-1372/SRC-48(V)]which is why I believe it to be FM.  All I, as a
landlubber, know.
