I always assumed that it was because when you're hidden in the jungle and=

don't want to be found by people who would shoot you on sight, you
shouldn't spend a lot of time transmitting.  :-)

However, there were two blowers made for the RT-671, the CV-2455 (for RAT=
T)
and the HD-694.  There was also the AN/FRC-44 which was, or at least was
planned to be, a RATT station.  I have a 115VAC/60HZ to 115VAC/400HZ rota=
ry
inverter.  The nameplate says PU-385(WX-1)/FRC-44.  So it was still in th=
e
development stage when my inverter was built.  No idea whether it got
beyond development or not, but I would guess maybe not.

Incidentally, Dave, I still have the complete AN/PRC-47 that I got from y=
ou
eons ago.  :-)

did not design it with better PA tube cooling.  The "1 minute on - nine
minutes off" transmit duty cycle is tough to live with...
