zero-supressor-voltage type beam pentode
PL-177  Fil. [email protected] 75W Max. Plate  Class AB1 Output 96W at1KV, 
140(ICS)@1.5KV, 200(ICS)@2.0KV.

If Collins designed the transmitter for low duty cycle that could explain
running 1500 volts on the plate!

Sorry I don't have a full data sheet from Penta.   

Sibley says PL-177 is 4-125 format but all glass,
alternate to Westinghouse 6549
