Are you sure you don't have the 342 and the 348 reversed here?

It's hard to imagine a more inappropriate aircraft receiver than the
super heavy BC-312/342.  How would one adapt the aircraft 24 vdc supply
to power it?  The USAAF apparently required all ETO BC-348s to be models
covering 200 to 500 kcs, a band never available on a 312/342.  What
would be the point of trying to adapt a 312/342 to an aircraft?

The R-388/URR, and later the R-390/URR, was part of the AN/GRC-26.  I've
never seen any association of the BC-348 to a GRC-26, or for that matter
to the SCR-299/399/499 sets using the BC-610 transmitter.  For the
latter, the BC-312/342/344 receivers were used.
