Had a chance to use one of there 1 tube radios many years ago.
It was a modulated oscillator using a type 30 tube. Many of the
parts were made in the USA. The radio worked in the 10 meter
band. Not being informed on military equipment at the time I did
not know what I realy had. I borrowed it from a local ham who got
it in the Pacific during WW2. If I remember correctly it was anout
2 inches thick and about 5 inches high. It used a 67.5 volt
battery for B+ and 1.5 Volts for filaments. Ran about 2 watts when
wide open. Only problem was that it FM'ed badly as the oscillator
circuit was not very stable.
