Just deployed the RT Systems radio programming software for my ICOM IC-R8600. I'm programming in all the 25 kHz channels from 30.000 to 87.975 with CTCSS decode for 151.4 Hz, which works with military 150 Hz side tones. Picked up the following this afternoon:
1902Z 30.300/151.4 Noisy OM with 2-3 5-15 sec transmissions. Too noisy to make out anything. Fixed station but had not heard before or since. Based on my reception of amateur 6M signals, this station is within 75 miles of me. Nearest mil installation is Ft Indiantown Gap but I did not find this channel listed for there.
'Thirty-thirty' is a usual FOX MIKE channel. My neighbor who flew helicopters in the Army knew it as 'WINCHESTER.' This seems to be a military 'common' channel for local use.
Antenna: Diamond 3000 Superdiscone @ 480 AMSL
