[MilCom] Morse code- Military CW op Needed

 Hi Guys,
 
 This is Scott . I have been a ham for over 20 years.
My  Step-father, a radio op in the Army during vietnam.
 
 Hams use the character SK with a line over it as a definition of silent key, or  for a dead op.
 
In the military did the Army use another symbol over the air? This is for my stepfathers grave marker
and I just want to get it right for him & my Mother. I was going to have engraved.
 
""Name,  rank,  U.S. Army  Communications op.  Date  AR  SK  73"
 
 My Mother will also have the dates he served as well
 
 Does that sound right?
