Somewhere around 1967-68, a Radio Shack DX-160 with longwire out the window.
Not really excited about radio until I tripped over
something deep in the night (instead of sleeping so as to be able to go to
school the next day).
What I had found was two air force planes returning to Guam talking about
their bomb runs over Vietnam.
I carved a notch with my knife into the face dial to mark it . Been hooked
ever since.
