Previous posting:

Range clearance activities have been underway all morning in
preparation for this afternoon's launch of Space Shuttle Orbiter "Atlantis" on
Shuttle Mission STS-128. Range Control is controlling USCG and USAF assets on
157.075.
A short while ago a helo that had entered the launch-restricted
Safety Zone was forced to land, and USCG helo "Dolphin 01" hovered over the helo
until law enforcement folks arrived. The violator helo had been forced to
land in an open field.
Now T-38N "NASA 902" is up on 126.65 with Weather Capcom in Houston.
For a while NASA 902 had trouble raising Weather Capcom because of an open
mic on the freq, but he contacted Cape Control on 264.8 and had them relay
a message to Houston about the open mic.
Patrick AFB HH-60G helos "Jolly 01," "Jolly 02," "Jolly 03," and
"Jolly 04" have been informing "Variety" on 141.3 of vessels that have been
encroaching into the Restricted Area surrounding the launch pads, and CG
Cutter "Kingfisher" has chased several away.
FL-ANG 125FW F-15s have been flying the Apollo CAP (Combat Air
Patrol), maintaining comms with NORAD's Huntress on 260.9.
"Nation 01" and "Nation 02" are the supporting tankers.
Skymaster "Video 37" is working the launch as well.
Seems like more interlopers for this launch than usual. As the
number of launches remaining dwindles, there may be more folks willing to take a
chance in order to get good photos of the launch.
USMC KC-130T "King 3" has just requested that Variety on 141.3 ask
JOLLYs to come up on 138.275 as their AR prime.
I will be posting all the active freqs and vessel/unit callsign to my
Email groups, listed below. They are some of the busiest email groups
around now, with serious, sharing members and no Tomfoolery. MilRadioComms
has 860 members and averages from 950-1000 postings per month.
