It is with great sadness that I announce the  passing of a member of our 
group.
     My good friend John Henault passed away suddenly  on Saturday, only 
days after he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
     John was a great friend of mine.  He lived in  Brooksville FL, and we 
attended the Melbourne Hamfest every year for many many  years; that was our 
annual convention.
     John was a great contributor to the Yahoogroups I  operate, but a few 
years ago he told me he preferred to send me the information  to post 
anonymously instead of posting himself.  He sent me much  information on the 
FL-ARNG helos based at Brooksville, and information on other  events of interest 
to radio monitors.
     John was a retired policeman and fireman from  Massachusetts.  He took 
great joy in remembering his duties as a security  officer for President 
Ronald Reagan's trips to the Bay State.  He and  Reagan became friends and he 
was called upon from time to time to participate in  security operations for 
the President.  He was very proud of the photos and  momentos he 
accumulated from his relationship with Reagan.
     John was also very proud of the elaborate radio  shack he put together 
at his home in Massachusetts years ago.  Many of us  admired that station 
along with him.
     John was co-author, with Darryl Symington, of a  book on QSLing 
Utility stations.
     John will be missed by myself and many of the good  friends he had.
