Shortly after 8am, CAP Flight-228 detected an intermittent ELT signal.

Red Rock-156, with guidance from Red Rock-121, initiated a Ground Team Response (Red Rock-133) to assist in locating the signal.

The initial coordinates provided at the end of the Tucson Mountains did not produce the "crash site". At that location, further information revealed that a low flying aircraft with a sputtering engine was seen heading towards Kinney Rd, approximately 2 hours earlier.

About 9am, Red Rock-104 assumed command and guided both ground and air teams to a new location located in the area of Golden Gate and Hohokam Roads.

CAP Flight-228 was not able to localize the practice ELT and returned to base at Ryan Field due to air traffic in the area and the lack of localization of the signal.

Red Rock-133 proceeded on to the advised location.

Radio exercise appeared to terminate at this point.

121.775mhz - Practice ELT Signal
148.15mhz/PL 107.2 - Red Rock-104, Red Rock-121, Red Rock-156, CAP Flight-228
